1. How do you say Outremer?
Outremer is Old French for Over Seas. The first syllable Outre = over,
outer, beyond while the second
syllable mer = water, sea,
seas, boundary, etc. To say Outremer
[without a silly French accent], say Out-tra-mare

2.What do you guys do? We
are members of a bigger organization known as the SCA or Society for
Creative Anachronism Inc. This Society or SCA, does full contact
neo-Medieval recreation. It is not a Living History Group as it's
members can be from any time period though the SCA states: The SCA
"period" is defined to be Western civilization before 1600 AD,
concentrating on the Western European High Middle Ages. Outremer has
folks that are in the High Middle Ages for the most part though there is
a Viking or Late Period German or two. Regardless, we focus on the
Crusading Period [give or take a few years] starting in 1070 through
1270ish.
